Quite honestly, there is no story! The kids returned home from school and someone had put Abi's bike on someone else's porch near where we live!

Hoo-ray! I hate thieves - they make me feel so soiled! I am really glad that her bike was returned.

That is great! I am sure the whole ordeal thought Abi a lesson about locking her bike and she didn't have to lose her bike to learn the lesson.

Unfortunately that wasn't the case...Abi was not in the least phased by the whole ordeal...I was more upset than she was. At least, she didn't show that she was upset. Regardless, she has restricted use of her bike and is grounded for a week.

I think your punishment is just. There has to be something for her to realize the gravity of what happend.

That is great that the bike is back! YEEAHHH! I also agree with the punishment. My oldest son has an issue with leaving his bike 'laying around'. One summer we were camping, I went to the restroom and there was his bike. No kid, just bike. I was so furious. I took the bike back to the campsite and hid it. When he came back he looked like a ghost. I asked him where his bike was, and he LIED, told me it was at his friends site. OH NO. I let it go on until later in the evening, and he was grounded also. It seems he dosent leave his bike 'lying around' much anymore.
