I like how (?)he's(?) railing on France, when -were it not for them and the millions of dollars that the USA has yet to repay them- we would NEVER have broken free of British rule 229 years ago!

Hate like that just makes me want to throw up.

(...and move to Europe where they have learned to forgive, if not forget...)

...of course if it weren't for the Mexicans taking on the French while we were embroiled in our own civil war...we may have been a French speaking nation. Oh the possibilities.

Moving to Europe sounds nice...
Europe where they say:

"It's not a matter of patriotism... it's not that we think our country is the best, it's that we like everyone else less."

If it weren't for the French we'd all be speaking English today. Think about that.

I think that rocks!

Surely the past two world wars have called our debt to France quits! Don't get me wrong, France is one of my favorite destinations, but the French.... ugh... they are right up there with UN in my book...

Well, I since I just spent 35 dollars to fill up my H-O-N-D-A, I liked the "drill in Alaska" bit - don't those caribou have enough room already? And they don't even DRIVE - what do they need oil for?

China - hell, get rid of 'em. But if we boycott Japan, how will I get a new Honda? To quote Eddie in "AbFab" - "I'm sorry if I sound selfish, sweetie, but its all about me, me, ME!"

But I agree with slushturtle - ugh, the French. If it weren't for the U.S., THEY'D be speaking German - so we're even.

What have the countries on list 2 done for the people of the world? Where are they when disasters hit? Where are they when tyrants threaten to kill millions of innocent people? Where's all their money, their resources, and manpower? As far as I'm concerned they suck big time. Our soldiers are the ones who are spit on, and our citizens are mocked and criticized. I'd like to see those countries step out of their comfort zone and feel what it is like. We are the most generous people in the world. When the refugees of Cuba flee in little boats...do you think that their hope is to go to France or Germany? No...their hope is to make it to the United States where they know that they have a chance at freedom. The list 2 countries are just like benchwarmers on a football team. All they do is criticize those who are in the game. Anyway, I'd rather have my countries prominent figures be George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Payne, or Abraham Lincoln than Napoleon Bonaparte, Oamar Khadafi, Sudam Hussein, or Adolf Hitler. Think about it...

NOT a compassionate conservative. Just an upset citizen who loves their country and its people.

Um, I saw this post originally on another person's blog, and he had just finished calling our president a "liar." Not so much a conservative... careful with the assumptions there, bud.

Let's not throw the old, VERY tired, "compassionate-conservative-with-a-sneer" blanket over it, please. Or I'll be forced to start name-calling, too, and the best I've got is: "Your Mama wears army boots." ('Course YOUR Mama probably wears Berkenstocks).

- From a "Compassionate Conservative" (hey! I CAN say it, after all!) - though I prefer the title, "vast right-wing conspirator," if you don't mind.

Oh, and before you can say A WORD - yes, I was ASSUMING your Mama wears Berkenstocks. I'm sorry; she might not. She might really wear Army boots.
